Why electrodynamic shakers work

The principle of operation of an electrodynamic shaker is relatively simple and is essentially the principle of electromagnetic induction. When an energized conductor is subjected to a constant magnetic field, the conductor is subjected to alternating currents, and vibrations are generated due to the changing forces on the moving coil. The shaker then produces the required vibration waveform. The electrodynamic shaker consists of five parts: the moving coil winding and moving parts, the moving parts suspension and guide, the excitation and demagnetization unit, the table body, and the support unit. The moving coil winding and moving parts are the core of the shaker.


Development of the multi axis vibration shaker

A large number of engineering practices have proven that vibration testing is an effective method of identifying the reliability of product hardware in real-use environments. The traditional multi-axial vibration test method used in vibration environmental testing is that vibration tests are carried out sequentially in a sub-axial manner over time, regardless of simultaneity. For the multi-axial vibration problems that exist in the actual use environment, the traditional vibration test conditions are formulated assuming that the vibration effects in each direction are independent of each other, and the test conditions are given in three stopping directions, with multiple directions having vibration at the same time, emphasizing simultaneity. The vast majority of test pieces, especially those in the aerospace and marine industries, are not in the real vibration environment that people think of as a single-degree of freedom, but rather multi-degree of freedom, so it is clear that the shaker with the current single-direction excitation cannot simulate the real vibration environment. This is the reason why multi axis vibration shakers are now so widely used.


Development status

China is a developing country, compared with developed countries we still have a small gap in vibration testing technology, the popularity of vibration testing is still far from enough, which directly affects the quality and reliability of our products, resulting in the relatively low competitiveness of our products in the international market. Therefore, strengthening vibration testing is an effective means to improve product quality and reliability in various industries. The improvement in the level of vibration testing technology urgently requires our electrodynamic shakers, especially the use of the majority of electrodynamic vibration equipment to keep pace with the advance.
